Indiana University Information Technology Strategic Plan 2 (ITSP2)
Indiana University’s first Strategic Plan, developed in 1998, has provided an excellent technology foundation for Indiana University. The plan provided ten enduring General Recommendations and 68 specific Action Items to guide its implementation. Implementation of the plan was transformative in its provision of IT for IU’s students, faculty, staff, and communities. It is time to plan again. IU President Michael A. McRobbie has directed the University to plan for “the pervasive use of IT to help build excellence in education and research in all disciplines, in administration, in IU's engagement in the life of the State, across all campuses, and in collaboration with IU's key partners such as Clarian Health and institutions of higher education in the State.” Brad Wheeler, Vice President for IT & CIO, has appointed and charged the University Information Technology Committee (UITC) and its taskforces to work with him and his leadership team to develop IU's next IT Strategic Plan (ITSP2). The plan must be visionary, realistic, and relevant to the missions of IU’s campuses. The work is human-centered based on the IU community’s roles in using IT with taskforces focused on Faculty and Scholarly Excellence, Student Success, Effective Community (how we work together), and Engagement Beyond (IU's engagement with the state and world). Over 125 faculty, staff, and students from across Indiana University, as well as several representatives of external stakeholder organizations, are at work in the taskforces and the UITC. Professor Frank Acito, Kelley School of Business, chairs the UITC. More information about the university-wide planning effort is in the links below. Comments, suggestions, and ideas for the UITC and its taskforces can be sent to ITSP2@oncourse.iu.edu. |
