Kim Milford, J.D.
Special Assistant
As special assistant to the CIO, Milford provides leadership for special projects and strategic initiatives in the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology and University Information Technology Services (UITS). An accomplished information security and policy professional, Milford has extensive experience in higher education and corporate environments. Most recently, Milford was the Director and Information Security Officer at the University of Rochester, where she oversaw information security functionality including policy development, security awareness, disaster recovery planning, identity management, and incident response. Prior to joining the University of Rochester in 2005, she was the Information Security Manager at UW-Madison's Department of Information Technology, where she initiated and formalized incident response procedures and co-led in the development of an annual security conference. Milford has provided presentations on information security topics at various national conferences and seminars and participated in the authorship of articles and courseware on security. She has a B.S. in Accounting from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri and a J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois.
